Condolences to the Wilson family on the passing of Sherri. Sherri was my partner in 10th grade biology and she carried me through that class as that was my weakest subject in school. Thanks Sherri and rest in peace.

Rest In Peace  Sherri Wilson  -  You are in a Better Place.  It seems like she was Loved by all. I guess I didn't realize she lived in Colorado all that time  -  I lived there between September 1973 - September 1982.  I don't recall that she went to the 10 Year Class Reunion (that was when I lived in Colorado)  -  Maybe she did.   Sherri lived at the end of the block down the street from me on Avenue L -  across the street from the Elementary School.  I could tell stories about the Playground at that Elementary School.

Danny  -  Talking about the cold and snow and heat in the summer  -  When I lived in Nebraska I really didn't feel all that Cold & Heat like I do now.  We were kids and played like there wasn't any kind of inclement weather.  Just being kids.  I am choosing to go to Colorado next week and plan to ski for a few days  -  I know that I hate the cold but only when I don't have a choice  -  we have had a pretty cold winter here but not like you guys have.  Better get to work  -  people are wondering what I'm doing.  Talk to you later.

Frank,  I hate the cold too, but if I survive this Winter I might run for public office claiming Eskimo heritage.  Wiener Dog can be my Husky.

Just to help you warm up a little #1, Federal and State taxes deadline is only 46 days away, and our local Property tax first half is only 61 days down the line. This should put a damper on those wanting Spring to hurry up and get here.  Now if you're serious about your spot as an elected official remember they become Human Lightning Rods at tax time.

The warming trend you're feeling today is because my Income Tax is due tomorrow.  The check is in the mail ... just in time to pay another Coach.

Change of plans in the Political Arena. Eskimo or otherwise, I've never been able to reason with irrational people. Don't want lightning to strike my Igloo.

Dick  -  It may be because I'm Vegas where you should be  -  You know   -   "The City that NEVER Sleeps".   Well maybe not  -  but it's the thought that counts.  Better go and get some sleep  -  I have to work tomorrow.  Talk to you later.

I need my nap, so Vegas is out of the question.  Besides, my luck may have run out.  So did my cook.  She's headed to Texas to do her pilgrimage to the Alamo.

I have to stay home. The Doreenes are counting on me.  Do you suppose I can claim them as Dependents?  They have names.

Frank,  Did you win in Vegas (in your dreams)?  And does Carol know?

Snow coming...glad I have a quiet weekend!  Looks like I'm getting a new knee...but waiting until April because I have tickets to see Pink on 4/1, priorities...right?

KATHI,  Was this an old dancing injury from the last year or so?   My sister had a knee replacement which went well but due to favoring the replacement joint she damaged the other knee during her recovery /rehab period.  I assume they will push you to get up and going ASAP so concerts and competitive dancing  aren't ruled out yet this summer.  Rule of thumb----if something doesn't hurt when you get up in the morning----you're still asleep and only dreaming.  Isn't aging fun.

Kathy-are you getting just part of a knee-(cap) replacement or what?! I have arthritis in my left one where fell-trying to hurry or jog on bad sidewalk here-they stuck a long needle in the middle of it recently-better now but still aches some with the cold & been wearing a knee brace around it so TG not planning anything more painful for awhile anyway!

More snow-about an inch & very cold coming for the weekend-most snow in Febr.here-nasty weather & almost want some "global warming here" but with the frigid Polar weather coming down S. now more-due to "Global Warming"(?!) affect or what-it's a mess to try to figure it out anyway-more than ready for Spring as think we all are now probably!

Anna, I agree!  It was just getting so that I could get around the yard to get to the barn, as the cats like something to eat and to the county road when here it comes again.  There is enough wind that drifts are forming and with the new snow you can't see where the ice is from where it had melted alittle with the sun the last two days.        Dick be careful feeding those cows and taking weiner dog out.

Dick Garrelts

Been feeding the cows a little extra hay hoping to cause some Global Warming. Doesn't seem to be working. Maybe it's a myth.

If Mimi would have let me go along, I would be in 70* weather right now.  As it is I'm stuck here in the house with Wiener Dog and a freezer full of Ribeyes.  She's only been gone 36 hours and both pies are already gone.

We may have to have a Bachelor Party mini so us Bachelors can get some decent food.

What kind of pies were they?

Leanna...

That is a no-brainer.Cowpies.

They were "promptly devoured" pies.

Similar to a 'Go Fund Me' campaign is # 1 wanting a 'Go Pie Me' page  on the Forum?  Pie deprivation is a serious issue in rural America today.  Remember that #1 can not live on Ribeyes alone.

Jerry Ohlmann

I haven't checked out to the Message Forum for a while so was reading some old posts.

I'm very sorry to learn of Sherri Wilson's passing.  My sympathies to her family.  I remember Sherri was in a few of my KHS clases and she was always the smart one!  Sounds like she lived a very full and rewarding life . . . but cut way to short.

Dick G., I was reading one of your posts regarding feeding your cattle some additional hay during the cold weather. Don't you know that causes gas emissions and damages the environment.  I thinks we need to attached a gas meter to every one of those cows and tax the farmers based on how gassy they are.smiley  Maybe that will lower my property taxes.

Dick K., I forgot all about those two brothers at Coast to Coast until I read your post.  Those two brothers were very unusual.  They would both come into the store together and buy screws/bolts ect.  They would take the flat head screws and set them upright on the floor and then get down on their hands and knees to examine each one before buying. There was very little sefl service back then so we had to wait on each customer. Everyone hated it when they came in. Very comical.

Well I suppose it has been a tough winter in Kearney as in Omaha.  Sounds like we will have below zero temps again the next few days.  It's getting old.

Anyway hope everyone is doing well.

Jerry O.

I was sure they were going to be green banana cream pies.

Good for Mimi getting out of here for a while. I spent some time this winter in AZ and Mexico, and thought it might be safe to come back in March and not have to face single digits. So, I’ve pulled out my Laura Ingalls Wilder books, and am reading The Long Winter. Reminds me I don’t have much to complain about. I wouldn’t have made a great pioneer. One day closer to spring!

The bananas were too green to make pies, or so she said.  She also said she had a Blizzard in Texas - at Dairy Queen.  That's just mean.

We will get to 32* on Friday.  How about a DQ mini?

Happy Birthday, Susie !!

Jerry O,  Don't give them an excuse to add another tax.  It won't lower your property taxes.  It would just be another tax.

-16* currently,  -37* windchill      I'll need to go gas up the cows.  Don't know why I put myself through this ... now I remember, somebody has to pay for Democratic Socialism (oxymoron).
