My resolutions; Stop giving people crap on the Forum (that will be tough)

And to be more positive.  Too many times I come across as a "glass is half empty" kind of guy.  Much to be thankful for and I should rejoice. The bottom half is the best part.

Sorry Dick, the airline tickets said it was time to come home.  At least we had left the 70 degree temp on Wednesday when we went to Perkins, GA which is by Savanna to see some friends.  Cold weather was moving in and it was in the 30's and 40's.  Leaving Atlanta yesterday the pilot said it was 8 in Omaha then he goes sorry it is -8.  Boy was it cold when the shuttle picked us up to take us to the car.  Thank goodness I had found a web site that let you park at the Hilton Hotel under cover for less than any place at the airport.  When we got there they had the car out and running so it was warm.

We really had a good time.

Vicki,  Glad to hear you had a good trip.  The Polar Plunge mini we had here turned out to be just Danny, but he had a good time.

Just a heads up, Frank. Chocolate Covered Cherry Day is January 3rd.  We were in the house with 4 boxes during the cold spell.  Needless to say, we'll have to get some more for the occasion.

Vicki,  Speaking of great car service,  we noticed they have valet parking at Kroger's Grocery Store in Carmel, Indiana.

We also noticed almost everybody there drives a Mercedes, so why the valet parking?  Can't they just send the maid to get the groceries?

To All  -  HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!  It was a very low key Holiday Season  -  Carol's Mom turned 88 the 30th of December - we spent 5 Freezing Nights in Indiana and then came back to Texas for more Cold Weather.

Danny  -  How about a February Arizona Mini  -  it might be the right time if the this Cold Thing doesn't go away.  Gary may not be on board with it - he's playing a lot of Golf (that other 4 letter word)  -  as he says "it's his Golf Season".

Anna  -  Happy Birthday

Dick  -  I'll be celebrating the National Chocolate Cherry Day today  -  I still have some Dark Chocolate left.  So you will know Blanton fell and broke his shoulder (Rotator Cuff) and didn't make it to Mexico  -  Yet.  He may have to have surgery.  I started this post yesterday and am finally able to finish it - but right now I better go to work.  Talk to you later.

Danny  -  What are you doing auditioning for America's Got Talent ???  Are you guys getting into the Thaw ???  We are -  finally after  a week of below freezing - for the 1st time in 21 years we actually had Ice form on top of our pool - because of the Freeze Control the equipment ran 24/7 - now we'll have a summer type electric bill.  Better than tearing up the pool equipment.  We get back to normal this weekend and it is supposed to be High 60s on Sunday.  Better go to work so I can afford to pay that electric bill.  Talk to you later.

YES-very cold here also-sister Val said had 5" of snow there & really do have "Global Warming" which doesn't mean more heat everywhere but more weather extremes and or storms! Was in Iceland in '78 on way to my lst Germany trip-very few trees there near the airport & alittle snow-in mid Oct.-would like to return to see if or how is changed now-stay warm for now-coming again soon-just hate th record 20 below zero had here last week!

Danny's right Ann except not as bitter cold as had a few weeks ago-rain, ice & snow coming here by late tonite & probably sooner there-stay warm! Also my late Dad's sister-(Betty) Elizabeth Willard-Browning passed away age 88 in Everett WA-Dec.29th-a year younger that Dad-was 88-from Kearney probably graduated in 1947 or so from KHS-RIP!

Joe,  Deepest sympathies on the loss of your Aunt.

Anna,  How are we doing for the August Fog / Snow count?  I didn't keep track, but we did get a lot of fogs then.

Rowdy Nite / mini is coming up.  Here's what we have so far;

You can still get your name on the Donor Plaque for a donation of $50 or more to the ROWDY Section STILL Cares! Scholarship Fund.

Original Rowdy T-Shirts are still available at $15 each, on a first come basis and limited to sizes on hand. Proceeds go to the Scholarship Fund.

We'll gather for a Primer at Central Auto Electric (you can get a t-shirt there), then carpool to the game in the Magic Bus.

Will announce the game date and afterparty soon.  Some details need to be finalized.  We should know in a couple of days.

Hey Danny-maybe so when we were younger but have alittle pain in both hands (froze my mid-left finger once -white when cold now) & knee now-fell on it too many times-arthritis probably also pushing heavy paper rolls around for 30 some years-here-anyway price of growing older-however still think overall "global warming" not just always warm but more storms & temp extremes-all seasons-especially noteable in Winter-stay warm-Spring's coming-may go to Atlanta with a friend a few days lst of March to warm up so-least hope will be then-later!
