JMHO,  fascists calling themselves Anti-fascist is like calling healthcare legislation "Affordable", or calling riots "peaceful protests", or political activists calling themselves "Journalists".  How about having the Fact Checkers report the News?  Just the FACTS, please.  The REAL facts.

Watching the "oldies" would be a blessing. Nothing better than an old Jock Mahoney Western... that is until the remote gets commandeered for a Hallmark Christmas special.  I thought there was an understood rule that the guy controls the remote...  I feel emasculated.  At least I know we won't be watching any NFL or NBA.

Dick G - Funny you should mention Jock Mahoney!  Watching one of his movies tonight that we taped last week, Showdown at Abilene. I think I've seen it but what the heck...golf and NASCAR are finished for the day.

What's the latest on Big10 FB?  I heard that maybe the powers that "shouldn't" be, might have come around to the wishes of the people!  It would be a shame if the other big conferences play and the Big10 didn't.  Forget the fans at the stadium...the big money is TV anyway, isn't it?

Frank - I know what you're saying about the music back in the day.  I also didn't pay attention to the actual meaning of the words, but just the way it made you feel...back then and still today.  You call it shallow, I call it keeping things simple.  Too many people over analyze every word people say.  It does no good but to cause hard feelings. When it comes to politics, I know who I'm voting for and why. I assume the people around me feel the same and will not/cannot be talked out of their opinion,  so why talk about!!  Cast your vote and live with the results. I know most  people don't agree with such a simple approach, including my wife:)...but I can live with it.

I gotta back to my movie that I think I've already seen.

Gary,  Keeping it simple is sound wisdom. Everyone is right in their own mind, and emotion vs reason doesn't make for practical debate.  I'm thinking I'll write in Schick again this time. Can't get more simple than that!

Danny,  There won't be any fans in the stands. Does this mean I have to find somebody who gets the Big 10 Channel? That's probably not a problem.  The problem is getting somebody to invite me over. 

To those who ask about #2 and the Oregon fires; Terry tells me he is out of immediate danger- for the time being.  The Archie Creek Fire is only a few miles away, and is 15% contained.  He says Thanks for your prayers and concern.

Sincere Condolences to Painer on the passing of his mother, Eileen.  Painer has become a welcome part of our mini gatherings and a friend of the Class of 70. His mother has touched the lives of some of our classmates who chose the nursing profession. May her family find peace through faith and fond memories.

Marcene  -  Thanks for asking  -  My knee is actually Really Good -  I am playing golf (if you can call it that)  -  I've scheduled my Big Ski Trip for next March (my Doctor said I could be skiing by March), hopefully that won't be my only ski trip - My Boys and their Wives will be participating.  We have been to Colorado and hiked around (a little) so I am back to being active.

Tiger  -  Good Start for the Yanks  -  hope they can keep it up  -  I know that the Rays had their Number during the Regular Season (if you can call it that).  I watched part of the game talking to Garrelts #2 - he's sort of a Yankee Fan  -  he switched to the Dodgers because of Sandy Koufax (because he was left handed pitcher)  -  I went to sleep in the 8th Inning -  woke up and backed the game up so I could see the end  -  Nice Surprise in the 9th  -  Grand Slam.  Better go to work  -  GO BRONCOS -  talk to you later.

Tiger  -  Thanks for the Birthday Wishes  -  You know  -  69 doesn't feel much different than 68.  We were in Northern Michigan to see the Fall Colors  -  first time we have ever been there.  If you haven't been during the Fall Season  -  Put it on your Bucket List  -  it's Friggin' Beautiful.  I'll try to figure out how to import some pictures onto my laptop and share them.  Unfortunately  -  My Yanks lost  -  what a shame. My BRONCOS Monday Night Game had to be postponed but I still wore all my Colors on the flight home and both of my Fantasy Teams Won.  "It's a Strange Strange World We Live In Master Jack"  -  Someone should make a Song out of those words.  Your Sister has a Great Birth Day  -  Just ask me.  Better go to Work.  Talk to you later.

     When you were in Northern Michigan looking at fall foliage did you hear anyone call you a "leaf peeper" or hear that used ?  I know in Maine they use that term for people looking at the leaves.  

      We have beautiful Fall foliage in Nebraska most years.  Going to the New England states in the Fall is on my bucket list !!!!!!!!
