Anna  -  If they used that term we didn't hear it  -  however  -  As we were driving down the road going  "OHHHHHH"  and  "AHHHHHH"   I'm sure the people behind us in traffic that were actually on the move either to go to work, trying to get to an appointment or going to lunch had a few choice words for Us Guys.  We rented Bikes  2  days  -  the first  day Regular Bikes and the 2nd Day  E-Bikes  (what a wonderful invention)  and we were on the Trails with other OHHHHHHers  &  AHHHHHers   and nobody was concerned how long it was taking us.   It seems like every State has it's own unique offering for Fall Colors and I have heard that New England is the Creme de Creme and if that is on your Bucket List  -  DO IT  -  I'm sure you won't be disappointed.  I could go on and on about several places for Fall Colors we have visited and have a few Facinating Stories about a couple of them  -  but it would take too long.  Bring it up at out  50th and as you know I can embellish them  (by the way  when is the 50th  -  Terry Garrelts says that Spring or Early Summer work best for them so they don't have to deal with the HEAT).  I better go to Work  -  that same old four letter word.  Talk to you later  -  GO BRONCOS.

Kathi Geiser (Wright) I hope you and your family are out of harms way from the Cameron Peak fire which is very close to Loveland with very high winds forecasted today.

I am safe, but you're right, its hitting the foothills west of town,  and we can see flames from town.  Lots of friends evacuated.  The place I work for, Sylvan Dale Ranch, had to evacuate 70 horses!  My best friend has land up the Buckhorn that we spend lots of time at. It's probably gonna be scorched when we go back up.

We've had lots of smoke, ash, and bad air days.  Can't see the mountains for the smoke.  Yeah, it's bad.

Thanks for checking.  Kathi

I read in the paper a few days ago that Jack Hurt passed at the age of 93.He was one of the nicest teachers we had in H.S. He taught typing, business law and accounting. The paper said his first teaching job was at Odessa High in 1958 as an English teacher. Rest in peace Mr.Hurt.

Thanks for the b-day wish Cindy.

I'm so sorry to hear about Rick's health.  I will say some prayers for him!  I read about Jack Hurt too.  I really enjoyed taking Bookkeeping from him.  He was one of the good ones and we were lucky to have several really great teachers.   I am getting ready to send out postcards for our 50+1 reunion.  Please update your proffile if you have moved in the last 5 years.  Reunion is set for August 27-28. 2021 and both nights will be at the Holiday Inn from 6:00 - 10:00.  I'm really hoping we will be able to get together by then.  Stay safe everyone!

Ron  -  Happy Belated Birthday  -  are you 69 or are you one of the younger ones ??  I figured out how to put a couple of the Michigan Fall Color pictures on my profile.  Sad to hear about Freese.

Susie  -  August ???  it is what it is but if I would have known it was August I would have tried to stack the ballot box -  Maybe this Covid thing will be behind us  -  at least the non-stop negative political ads will be (hopefully).   Better go to work  -  I am still drawing a paycheck.  Talk to you later. GO BRONCOS

I got a text from Terry Garrelts (#2) with some sad news.  Dan Blanton's son, Ian, passed away on Sunday. All I know is that they found Ian in his apartment. Please keep Dan and his family in your prayers. If I learn any more details I post another message.

I talked with Seerly's mom, Barb the other day.  She is doing very well after her pelvis fracture and was in great spirits.

I remember Mr. Hurt well  . . . he was one of my favorite teachers at KHS.  Sounds like God blessed him with 93 years!   I hope I'm remembering this correctly but does anyone remember the adding machine room adjacent to his classroom.  There was one machine in there that if you divided 0 by 0 the adding machine would keep running until it ran out of tape. I don't know who did this but I think it happened several times. Mr Hurt was not amused.

Happy Belated Birthday, Ron.

Happy birthday to you Vicki !!! You must be at least 40 by now.

Thanks for the info about Dan's son. So very sorry to hear that. Prayers for Dan and his family.

Jerry,is your conscience bothering you and you want to confess that it was you that divided 0 by 0 to keep the machine running?

I assume that adding machine was part of Riley's domain  (Business math class).  Mr. Ohlman it's better to confess on the Forum so you can sleep better tonight.  I have a trivia question related our former teacher  (JH)  What was his nickname to many of us our Senior year?  I'll give a little hint,  it is related to his apparent choice of food at lunch.  Let me add my prayers to the Blanton family on their loss, it is a parents worst nightmare to lose a child at any age.  Maybe by this weekend the Presidential Election will be settled or is the Sequel in the works.

Dick ..

The only answer I can come up with is Mr. McClure (Big Mac).

I have no idea what nickname we gave Hurt.

Here is Dan Blanton's address.  I know he would appreciate sympathy cards from his classmates.

Maybe those who had Jack's class in the afternoon would have an advantage especially when he would lean over you to help explain something.  Tuna Fish was the moniker if my memory is correct, but again at our age the only constant we can attest to is gravity.  Most of the guys may have noticed their chest is a lot closer to their belt line and may measure a lot more than than in High School, dam that gravity.

Yes Dick I remember Mr. Tuna😂

Cindy / Dick / Jerry  -  Jack Hurt was one of my favorite teachers - I don't know if you guys remember but he gave me the opportunity to go to Minneapolis, MN for the National Leadership Conference and I represented KHS for our DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Chapter.  I caught a bus in Grand Island that was already half full of kids like me (it had started in Scottsbluff or Ogalala and worked east) and we continued to pick up kids in Lincoln and Omaha.  The conference lasted for 3 days  -  we stayed at a High Rise Hotel in downtown Minneapolis (the 1st time I had ever stayed at a place like that)  -  The Twins were in town and the opposing team was staying at the same hotel  -  I was on an elevator with a few of them and couldn't believe how big they were  -  they should have been Football Players.  It truly was a trip I'll never foget. Maybe that is why I ended up in the Business World.  As you can tell  -  "I am the King of making a Short Story Long"  Talk to you later.

Thank you to all of the Veterans in our group.  Your service is greatly appreciated.

I went over to the Veterans gathering and they played the song for each branch of the service.  I'm weeping like I do at the parade every year.   I guess that is my way of showing appreciation.
